Family Education and Culture

All work and no play makes Jacob a dull boy. So, at Chigwell and Hainault we endeavour to provide both fun and educational events.

In recent years our social functions have included the following successful events:

• a guided tour of the Jewish sites of the East End
  
• a concert by The London Jewish Male Choir
  
• a Chicago bridge supper
  
• Chanukah parties
  
• a Purim play
  
• a 5 day visit to Prague
• a communal discussion group for Succot followed by supper and many more
  

To balance this we have provided educational lectures on:

• politics
  
• history
  
• travel
  
• business and medical ethics
  
• and of course Jewish studies
  

Last February we held a successful full day seminar on family relations.

From our future Diary of Events you can see that our enthusiasm is catching and we have many more functions in the pipeline including our trip to Budapest in 2001.
