Community Youth Activities

Welcome Welcome to Jonny and Sharon Levy who have recently joined our community as new Synagogue Youth Leaders in September. Recently married in snowy Jerusalem in December 2006, Jonny and Sharon met in University College London. Jonny spent three years studying Mathematics, Sharon four years studying Jewish History and they met in Yiddish class! Before that Jonny spent 2 years abroad, one in Israel the other in New York studying in Aish Yeshiva and Ohr Somayach. Sharon also spent a year in Israel studying at the sem Orot.

The girls in our youth enjoy shooting each other - as long as its only Paintballing!

Jonny and Sharon love what they do, and are very excited to get to know all the youth. They run events for youth of secondary school age, social and educational. Activities organised so far this year have included a black tie Murder Mystery evening, open air ice skating at Canary Wharf, regular power league football matches, musical fun Saturday night program called Hava Nashira, Paintballing, Thorpe park, BBQ and much more to come. Plus on top of this regular youth services on Shabbat and Shabbat lunches in their home there is plenty to get excited about.

Please email us if you would like more details of future events or even one of their special youth calendars.

More fun than you can shake a stick at!

For information about any of our events, feel free to e-mail Jonny&Sharon

Here are just a few of the events we run:
Youth Service - Every 2 weeks there is a youth service followed by the famous youth kiddish. The youth have learnt to run the entire service themselves.
Food N Fun - Every Sunday morning we have a luxury breakfast followed by an interactive, dynamic discussion on a topical, modern Jewish issue.
Outings & Adventures - Over the past year, the youth have been paintballing, bowling, played football, had aerobic lessons and much more!
Food 4 Thought - The youth leaders make themselves available every Sunday afternoon for any of the youth that want to increase their Jewish identity and education with young, fun role models they can relate to.
Youth Shabbatons - Over 120 youth joined us on our last youth shabbat! We have meals and run events over the whole shabbat as well as special activity after shabbat.

As well as this, we also have video and pizza evenings, weekly discussion groups, special events every festival and lots more!
